Teaching
Daniel Hoffmann has taught French language and literature courses at UC Berkeley since 2016. He is the coordinator of the first-year language program, as well as the program director of the department's annual summer abroad program in Paris. He is currently a faculty advisor at the UC Center for Teaching & Learning.
In 2021, for his work during the pandemic, he received the "Extraordinary Teaching in Extraordinary Times Award" from the Academic Senate. In 2023, he received UC Berkeley's "Distinguished Teaching Award," the university's highest honor for teaching.
