I teach a range of language and literature courses here in the Department of French, where I also coordinate the first-year language program. In that role, I work closely with graduate student instructors in their first years of teaching. Since 2017, I've been the Program Director of our annual summer study abroad program in Paris. Director of The Lower Division. Coordinator of the Second-Year French Language Program
Vesna Rodic (Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley, 2008) is the Director of The Lower Division as well as the coordinator of the second-year French language program. She serves as a Faculty Advisor at UC Berkeley's Center for Teaching and Learning. Dr. Rodic is the Faculty recipient of the Chancellor's Sustainability Award (2023) for her work in curricular innovation, teaching, and instructor training. In 2024, she has been awarded the campus Faculty Fellows Award.

Maya has been teaching as a lecturer in the department since the fall of 2016. She completed her PhD in French/Francophone Studies at Northwestern University.

Since completing her Ph.D. in 2016, Margot has been a lecturer in the French department at UC Berkeley where she teaches a wide range of courses and materials. As a Berkeley Language Center fellow, Margot has developed curricula for lower division French language courses. She is a recipient of the campus-wide Teaching Effectiveness Award.

Claire Tourmen is a French researcher in adult learning and she has been teaching French language and culture (1rst and 2nd years + French For Politics and Translation) at UC Berkeley for almost 5 years now. She is from Angers (Vallée de la Loire), and has been living in California since 2013 with her husband and their little girl. She has a passion for film photography (with her old Rolleiflex), cooking - especially pâtisserie -, reading, writing fiction and hiking.
