Biography
Lina SCALLY is currently a PhD student in the French Department at UC Berkeley. She recently earned an M.A. in French and Francophone Literature from Miami University (Ohio), following a bachelor's and master's degree in Operations Management (2013-2018) from the IESEG School of Management in Lille, France. During this time, she also studied abroad at Cornell University and the University of Queensland. Lina possesses extensive professional experience in the hospitality industry in Europe, the United States, and Australia. Additionally, she taught French to undergraduate students during her Master's in Ohio. Lina's research focuses on identity and memory, with a particular interest in postcolonial fiction of the 20th and 21st centuries in Arab countries (North Africa and the Middle East), explored through various media such as comics and film studies.
