Teach English in France (TAPIF)
TAPIF works with France Éducation international (FEI) to place language assistants in classrooms of all ages across metropolitan France, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and La Réunion. The seven-month contracts, which can be renewed three times (consecutively or not), enable young adults to gain valuable classroom experience, improve their French language skills, and immerse themselves in the francophone world.
Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award
The Fulbright Commission and the International Agency of the French Ministry of Education, France Education international, offer up to 10 awards for Fulbright English Teaching Assistants to France. These 10 Fulbright ETA awards are part of the general French Government English Teaching Assistantship program, and are enhanced with an additional monthly stipend, Fulbright enrichment programs, and guidance.
American Outbound Program
The American Outbound program facilitates the visa application process for qualified young Americans aspiring to work in France for up to 18 months under a “jeune professionnel” visa as part of the FACC-NY’s mission to strengthen cultural and professional exchange.
The FACC-NY partners with the French Office for Immigration and Integration as well as the French Regional Labor Bureaus to expedite candidates’ visas and work authorizations. Candidates will have to secure work in France prior to obtaining the visa and the FACC offers tips on how to do so through their resource guide.
Institute for Field Education
The Institute for Field Education (IFE) is a European not-for-profit institute which uses experiential education and research-focused programs to promote intercultural understanding and language skills. IFE has longstanding partnerships with a wide network of US universities. Years of operating successful study abroad programming have given the Institute a deep knowledge of the field of study abroad. This program can be completed by both undergraduates and graduates and offers 6 weeks of intensive coursework followed by 12 weeks of full-time internship work in a field of choice.
In the professional field of international education IFE is known for it’s high standards, adherence to programs in the language of the host country, and unique programs which use experiential education and research to gain cultural understanding and skills.
The Jean and Marie-Louise Dufrenoy scholarship
Awarded annually, the Jean and Marie-Louise Dufrenoy Scholarship allows an American student in science to pursue studies in France in their own discipline for one academic year.
In the event that there is no candidate in a scientific discipline, this scholarship may be awarded to a student holding a Bachelor of Arts degree who intends to pursue a career in teaching or a diplomatic career.
