Research Areas

Claire Tourmen is specialized in adult learning: she has ben studying professional learning and cultural learning for more than ten years, using a constructivist (Piagetian) approach. She is an active member of the Unité de Recherche "Formation et apprentissages professionnels" (AgroSup Dijon, Ensta Brest, Cnam Paris), the ADEF lab (Université d'Aix-Marseille), and an active participant of the Berkeley Language Center research seminars. She has been a Visiting Scholar at Berkeley Graduate School of Education from 2013 to 2015. 


Biography

Claire Tourmen is a French researcher in adult learning and she has been teaching French language and culture (1rst and 2nd years + French For Politics and Translation) at UC Berkeley for almost 5 years now. She is from Angers (Vallée de la Loire), and has been living in California since 2013 with her husband and their little girl. She has a passion for film photography (with her old Rolleiflex), cooking - especially pâtisserie -, reading, writing fiction and hiking.
