Contemporary Film and Media Production in the French Language
Completion of French 102 or its equivalent required for enrollment. This class is taught entirely in French.
In this course, we will dive into the contemporary film and media industry and its relationship to the French language. We will explore filmmaking professions dominated by French language speakers, such as: animation, cinematography, and independent production. This will enable us to identify potential careers in the filmmaking industry and understand the role French-speaking skills has in creating job opportunities in film and media. The course will also feature testimony from guest speakers who are French-speaking professionals working in the industry today. Another goal of the course is to help students prepare professional materials in French for the job market, such as your CV and portfolio, expanding your career opportunities to the French-speaking world.
