Biography

Currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Romance Languages & Literatures Ph.D. (French emphasis), I work at the interface of sociolinguistics and language pedagogy. My work aims broadly to decenter France in French language teaching. Taking a sociolinguistically-informed approach, my pedagogy contextualizes individual forms as characteristic of a continuum of varieties known as 'French' as well as discussing associated language ideologies. When not researching sociolinguistics and language teaching, I enjoy running, lifting weights, cooking and playing with my cat Autumn!
